According to concurring reports in the international press, the Mercedes stable has made moves to acquire Carlos Sainz, who will become a free agent at the end of the year.
Although Sainz is coming off a truncated weekend, he is said to have wasted no time and is in encouraging talks with Toto Wolf, who is keenly interested in his services. The meeting was attended by Carlos Sainz senior and Carlos Onorio, the head of the driver's management:
