It looks like Formula 1 may draw inspiration from the Brad Pitt film for an interesting innovation.
Anyone who has attended any motorsport event has seen that teams manually push cars back into their pits from both the scrutineering and the parc fermé. The same goes for practicing pit stops, which usually takes place on the Thursday media day in F1. Here, the mechanics split into two groups, with one crew simulating the positioning of the car while the other changes tires and the nose cone. In the film made by Brad Pitt, these scenes were shot using a specially manufactured electric-assisted replica car. Pitt has now mentioned that the teams envied the idea that originated from them, and they are now considering installing an additional battery that would only be equipped for these pit stop practice sessions. This would reduce the need for human resources, and due to the higher arrival speed, the simulation would also be more realistic.
An interesting concept that could allow the film crew to double their entry into Formula 1 history / PITTstop :) /?
