Lewis Hamilton spent his first full day behind the wheel of the W15 on Thursday, and his initial impressions are decidedly positive.
Hamilton completed 123 laps in Bahrain, with a significant portion of those being with a full tank and focused on long runs, but there were also some quick laps towards the end of the day. The British driver finished third on the hard C3 compound tires, which is promising for the upcoming weekend:
"We were really productive, I learned a lot about the W15, both on long runs and single laps. Based on this, I can confidently say that there has been clear progress, the car this year is much easier and better to drive. So I'm very grateful to everyone working in Brackley and Brixworth, who did a lot last year to get us out of the hole. Of course, this is just the beginning, we have many opportunities for further improvement, but this car can be a great foundation. We will work and improve, now and next week!" - Hamilton said.
