While the Italian press publishes triumphant reports from Maranello regarding Lewis Hamilton's arrival, allegedly Charles Leclerc and his team are far from pleased about the identity of their new teammate.
It's an open secret that Scuderia Ferrari's chairman, John Elkann, is a close friend and big fan of the seven-time British world champion, which could easily shake Leclerc's position within the team. Moreover, Leclerc recently extended his contract, and he had good chances to lead Ferrari to the top with suitable machinery as the team's leader. However, with Hamilton's arrival, the leadership role is no longer so clear-cut, as almost all of his wishes have already been fulfilled before he even joined the team.
Therefore, it's not surprising that Leclerc and his management are disappointed, as not only do they have to face the most successful F1 driver of all time as a competitor, but they also have to fight again for the hierarchical role they have held so far within the team. Of course, the situation will be entirely different if the Monegasque driver manages to defeat Lewis Hamilton in an uncompromising manner right from the start.
