We ourselves preferred it much more when there was something at stake in each reveal and the subsequent testing; nowadays, it really just means PR protocol.
"I think it will look like a race weekend. Everyone will be there, all the drivers and teams, and amidst great media attention, we will showcase the new look of our cars. The truly serious F1 fans will be disappointed, as these cars are not the real ones, but we will only see those for the first time during testing anyway. It feels a bit like we're preparing for the NFL player draft, but this event is not as defining for our future. But it is clearly good and positive that we are promoting the upcoming season and throwing a big party before we start racing. I think Stefano Domenicali has thought this through well; I'm curious to see how it will work in practice." - reflected Toto Wolff.
