A Red Bull Racing individual world champion believes that the young McLaren drivers, especially Lando Norris, still have a lot to learn.
The Dutchman thinks that if McLaren had behaved more consistently, it would not have been him celebrating an individual world championship title, but the papayas:
"Lando Norris would have won the championship title, no matter how big my lead was. Simply because they had the best car, but as a team and individually, they still have a lot to learn if they want to convert those credits into victories. They pulled off the constructors' championship nicely, that's fine, but they could have prepared better for the drivers' race. Instead, what do I hear? Papaya rules... Honestly, is this a joke? What does this mean? That you can't race? When they talk such nonsense to me over the radio, I immediately counter: shut up...!! This was missing, for them to be able to show strength." - revealed the secret Max Verstappen.
Do you think that if Lando Norris had been more aggressive in certain situations, he would have really had a chance to beat Max Verstappen?
