Verstappen commits to Red Bull until 2030

FansBRANDS® Team |

Max Verstappen has confirmed his commitment to Red Bull Racing by extending his contract until the end of 2030. The Dutch driver emphasized his loyalty to the team, describing Red Bull as “family” and expressing no desire to race for any other outfit during his Formula 1® career.

Verstappen’s journey with Red Bull began in 2015 when he made his debut with Toro Rosso, the team’s junior squad, before moving up to the main Red Bull Racing team in 2016. Since then, he has maintained a strong connection with the team, a bond he intends to preserve until he retires from the sport. This long-term plan aligns with the vision of Red Bull’s late founder, Dietrich Mateschitz, who had hoped Verstappen would finish his career with the team.

Despite significant changes within the team’s personnel, including the departures of Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, and the forthcoming exit of race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, Verstappen’s relationship with Red Bull remains solid. He highlighted the positive and transparent working dynamic with Team Principal Laurent Mekies, who took over leadership in mid-2025, as a key factor in his decision to stay.

Verstappen also praised the performance of the Red Bull Powertrains power unit in the 2026 season, acknowledging its strengths while stressing the team’s ongoing efforts to improve. Although the current season has been challenging for Red Bull, with no race wins so far, Verstappen remains confident in the team’s ability to recover and return to championship-winning form.

His statement that he does not feel the need to “drive in another colour” underlines his contentment with Red Bull and his focus on continuing to compete at the highest level with the team. Verstappen’s loyalty stands out in a sport where driver movements are frequent, and his commitment offers stability for Red Bull’s future plans.

As the 2026 season progresses, Verstappen’s extended contract provides a clear signal of his intent to remain a central figure within Red Bull Racing. His confidence in the team’s potential and the power unit’s development reflects a mutual commitment to pursue further success together.
