USA Grand Prix, sprint race: Smooth Verstappen victory

USA Grand Prix, sprint race: Smooth Verstappen victory

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The USA Grand Prix continued with the sprint race, where after a long time Max Verstappen was able to start from pole position and successfully converted it into a victory.

Verstappen had a good start, but Lando Norris started even better and quickly moved up behind the Dutchman into second place. Behind them, George Russell maintained his position steadily, while there wasn't much movement in the lower regions either. Not so in the Scuderia Ferrari camp, where the drivers were really battling each other, and even the direct contenders were involved. Reading the names between first and sixth place, there was nothing particularly surprising, but looking further down, there was indeed: two Haas cars in the top ten, and Sergio Perez, as usual, couldn't cope with Yuki Tsunoda even in the stronger car, so events were unfolding rapidly. Finally, after a fierce battle, Perez managed to overtake the Japanese driver, who was also passed by Oscar Piastri. By the 19th lap, Verstappen's victory was already unquestionable, but behind him, there was a huge fight for the podium. In the end, the outstanding Carlos Sainz, who had been providing extra excitement throughout the sprint, secured second place ahead of Lando Norris.

Soon the qualifying will follow, hopefully with similar thrills!
