The season-opening Australian Grand Prix is rapidly approaching, and not everything is going smoothly at Red Bull. At least, that's what the team's technical director's recent statement suggests.
Pierre Wache reported that there is some disappointment regarding the level of progress they have managed to achieve. And this seems to be significantly less than that of their major rivals, plus the car is not functioning quite as they would like and as they had initially expected.
"I think the first day of testing was still fine. However, from the second day onwards, certain problems arose, which prevented us from finding the right operating range. This fundamentally determines our competitiveness. Right now, this is a serious issue... I think the opening will be very close because McLaren and Ferrari are also faster than us," Wache stated optimistically despite the difficult situation.
