This is the end of Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 dreams, as the young driver has now officially cut almost all ties with the last refuge represented by the Mercedes team.
The young German has practically stated that this is the end of his F1 dreams, and from the end of the year, he will not even take on a reserve driver role at the team, as he envisions his future career entirely in the WEC (World Endurance Championship):
"I am very grateful to Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes-AMG Petronas family for welcoming me over the past two years, allowing me to gain insight into the team's work. Without a doubt, I have become a much more experienced driver thanks to this opportunity, I have learned more about the engineering side of racing, yet it has still been a difficult and painful period for me. It feels bad to just watch these cars and not race them, it's hard to digest this, so I had to move on. In the future, I want to focus one hundred percent solely on racing, and I want to fully commit myself to the sport of auto racing. As a driver, your goal is to be on the track constantly and to prove yourself, as all of us chase this feeling." – Mick Schumacher, who is heading to Alpine, provided insight into the background of his decision, where only the arrival of General Motors in 2026 could represent a glimmer of hope.
Or maybe not...
