Although Lewis Hamilton has been snapped up by the Reds, Ferrari is not idle: they have lured two key engineers to join the team in 2024.
One of the big grabs is former Ferrari chief designer Simone Resta, who will have no small title at Mercedes, becoming director of strategic development and James Allison's right-hand man. Resta was on loan at Haas but was employed by Scuderia Ferrari. Also leaving for Mercedes is Enrico Sampo, who has been involved in Ferrari's simulator projects in recent years and will continue as a software engineer at the big rival. Both have already signed contracts with the Maranello team, but are now on a mandatory sabbatical and will only take up their posts in 2024.
