JOKE: Sulayem would encrypt the radio communication.

JOKE: Sulayem would encrypt the radio communication.

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The president of the FIA continues to stand by his idea of "cleaning up" communication among drivers. And if this cannot be achieved through penalties, then encryption may come into play.

However, radio communications have already provided numerous unforgettable moments for motorsport enthusiasts, just think of Kimi Raikkönen's classics or the exchanges between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The FIA, however, is waging a war against common sense and humor alike, thanks to which, starting from 2025, anyone who expresses themselves obscenely on the radio could lose points. And this still isn't good enough for Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who, on top of this, would exclude spectators from the aforementioned experience and encrypt radio conversations.

"Are we going to turn off live radio communication? There is such an effort. There are many things we are working on with the involvement of promoters. Let no one forget that we are still the owners of the championship; we will determine the direction we move forward." - said the sports executive.

We don't want to seem rude, but doesn't someone want to finally remove this leadership from the FIA?
