"If they hate me, I will boycott the English events"

"If they hate me, I will boycott the English events"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Not everyone was genuinely happy for Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing at the public presentation held at the O2 Arena in London. Perhaps understandably, this does not sit well with the four-time world champion, who plans to boycott similar events in the future...

It was already evident from Verstappen's face that he was not particularly thrilled by the London circus, and Jos Verstappen revealed that his son was disillusioned by the whole thing due to the audience's reaction:

"I would describe what happened with Red Bull Racing as disgraceful. This event is about promoting Formula 1, and one of the sport's greatest champions is booed... Max told me that he doesn't want to experience this again, and if there is such an event in the future - provided it takes place in England - he will definitely skip it. The truth is, I have to agree with him. He does everything for the sport, he was there to serve the fans, and of course to showcase the car's livery. But when you face such circumstances, you start to wonder: What the hell am I doing here? And that this was the last time." - conveyed Verstappen's father's dissatisfaction.
