Scuderia Ferrari can look back on a quiet and uneventful day, and every true F1 fan knows how significant this is after the first test day of a new car.
The Bahrain testing is of utmost importance for all participants, but if there is someone for whom it is more crucial than anything else, it is undoubtedly Lewis Hamilton. A good sign is that not only he but also Charles Leclerc spoke very positively at the end of the first day:
“It’s always great to finish a smooth day with a new car and not face any unexpected problems during your program. Of course, it’s still early to comment on performance; we still have a lot of analysis to do, and we need to process data tonight so that we can be smarter by tomorrow.” – said Leclerc.
“It’s exciting to test, I love this part of the year. This is the first moment when we can see where everyone stands, and we can also feel what might be ahead of us. Well, after just one session, I can say that it was an incredible feeling to drive the SF-25. Right now, we are still just experimenting; the focus is on data collection, and of course, on getting as accustomed to the car as possible. But even after just one day, we learned a lot, and I have very good feelings!” - Hamilton rejoiced.
