Loic Serra has joined Scuderia Ferrari, and it is rumored that there will soon be noticeable and visible results. The Ferrari with code 677 will be a completely new construction, and theoretically, it will be capable of much stronger one-lap pace.
Serra has vast experience in vehicle dynamics, which he is trying to transfer to the 2025 red model. It is rumored that mainly the elements of the suspension, torsion bars, and shock absorbers will change, with the aim of enabling the 677 to bring the new Pirelli tires to their maximum operating range. The goal is to reduce overheating and allow for stronger one-lap stints through better tire management. This is the objective.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, had a good relationship with the tires during races, but during qualifying, the drivers often struggled with grip and difficult heating. This often resulted in Scuderia Ferrari starting from further back than the positions that could have been reached with pure performance; this dilemma is now being heavily addressed by the team led by Loic Serra. The changes incorporated into the design of the 677 aim to rewrite Ferrari's fundamental behavior, and signs of this are expected to be seen during the very first check in Fiorano on February 19.
