The Spanish veteran could be worried about his position from the current world champion, but Alonso wouldn't be Alonso if he thought that way...
"I'm not worried about my place, I have an active contract until 2025. However, I see these rumors as a very encouraging sign, both for myself and for the team. The fact that the world champion is most often linked with us alongside Mercedes and Ferrari shows the quality of the project we are working on and the future that awaits Aston Martin.
I will remain on the track as long as I consider myself fast enough and competitive, and of course, as long as the team needs me. However, my commitment is long-term; I will be here for many more years, just possibly in a different position. If that means we win the championship without me behind the wheel, I will still be very proud. And of course, if it turns out that way, I would be very happy to accept Max Verstappen as my teammate..." - reflected the legend.
