According to the rules, the first time a driver surpasses the allowed number of power unit elements, a 10-place grid drop is applied. Subsequent exceedances at the same event result in additional 5-place penalties, which accumulate. If the total penalty surpasses 15 grid places, the driver must start from the back of the grid.
